To every parent saying goodbye to summer.

Summer is over before you know it. Like a much needed summer breeze it comes and goes too swiftly. Before you know it, it’s September.

Backpacks by the door. Schedules that used to be loose suddenly locked back into place. Alarms set earlier than anyone in the house wants to admit. Summer has a rhythm all its own, and saying goodbye to it means saying hello to a completely different pace, one that asks a lot of parents, all at once.

If you’re in the middle of that shift right now, this one’s for you.

Maybe you’re dropping a child off at school for the very first time — lunch packed, first-day outfit picked out, a lump in your throat you didn’t expect. Maybe it’s the opposite end of that road: you moved your first born into a dorm room, now you’re driving home to a house that feels a little too quiet. Both of those moments are enormous, in completely different ways.

In between those two milestones is where most parents live — juggling new schedules, new routines, new logistics, on top of everything that didn’t pause for the season to change. Work didn’t slow down. The household didn’t run itself. The kids still needed to be somewhere, fed, ready, on time. September doesn’t ease anyone in gently. It just arrives, all at once, and asks parents to keep up.

So today, we just want to say: we see the effort. All of it.

We see the parents managing careers and households and school runs and everything in between, without much acknowledgment that any of it is hard. We see the working mothers holding down full-time careers while also holding the household together — the mental load that rarely gets a name, the invisible work that keeps everything running. That balancing act deserves more than it usually gets.

Today, it gets a nod, a thank you, a “we see you”.

This isn’t about any one kind of family or any one version of “doing it right.” It’s about every parent however your family looks, whatever your schedule demands — who’s navigating this transition and doing their best with what September hands them.

So as the backpacks come out and the routines reset, take a moment today to give yourself some credit too.

You’re doing more than it probably feels like some days.

And it matters.

Here’s to a smooth start to the season and to every parent making it happen, one morning at a time.
