A little about the person behind Thrive & Co.
Hi, I’m Natalie, founder of Thrive & Co.
I’m glad you’re here, and I’d love to share a little about what brought me to this work and why it means so much to me. Originally from Montreal, I’ve built my career around understanding businesses, working with people, and finding solutions. There have been different chapters along the way, and I’ve loved every one of them.
Before recruitment, I spent more than a decade in corporate operations, with opportunities to work for large organizations in food, heavy equipment manufacturing, telecommunications, and consumer packaged goods. I genuinely loved that work: the people, the pace, the responsibility, and seeing how different parts of a business came together.
That experience still shapes how I recruit today.
When I speak with an organization about a role, I can often connect it to work I’ve done or seen firsthand. I understand the departments that person will interact with, the competing demands they may face, and how their work affects colleagues, customers, and the wider business. It gives me a practical appreciation for what someone is being asked to do—and why it matters.
How recruitment became my work.
Recruitment came into my life when I returned to the GTA for the second time. An opportunity presented itself, and I remember expressing that this was the work I wanted to pursue. It felt like a natural progression from everything I had enjoyed in my corporate career.
Fourteen years later, full-cycle recruitment continues to bring me joy. I consider it a privilege to collaborate with people and organizations, helping and supporting key people initiatives.
Over those years, I’ve developed particular experience in several manufacturing industries while also recruiting across financial services, construction, transportation and logistics, insurance, commercial real estate, facilities management, and technology.
During my agency years, I recruited nationally and became someone colleagues turned to when a role was proving difficult to fill. Those assignments took me across positions and industries, and I value that experience enormously. It challenged me to learn, ask thoughtful questions, and stay resourceful when an answer wasn’t immediately obvious.
I still enjoy that challenge. Give me something unfamiliar to understand or a difficult problem to work through, and you have my attention.
The relationships matter to me
One of my favourite parts of recruitment is getting to know people.
I enjoy hearing about someone’s work, what they’re proud of, and what they hope to do next. My corporate experience also taught me how much the customer experience matters, and I bring that same care to candidates. I want people to feel respected, to receive honest communication, and to find our conversations helpful.
With clients, shared values matter. I particularly enjoy working with organizations that care about their people, whether they operate in a familiar sector or a niche industry I get to learn about.
I think of those relationships as partnerships. When someone trusts me to help build their team, I take that responsibility personally. I care about the outcome, and I bring the effort and attention I would want from someone supporting my own business.
Building Thrive & Co.
I founded Hunter National Recruitment in 2021, bringing together my corporate background, recruitment experience, and the kind of working relationships I wanted to build. That business became Thrive & Co., which today offers recruitment alongside separate leadership and professional coaching services.
Being independent has made the connection between my work and my values even more direct. The relationships I build, the commitments I make, and the care I put into each assignment are all things I’m personally accountable for.
I know the strengths I bring: a strong work ethic, persistence, an instinct for connecting with people, and a love of solving problems. I enjoy seeking out talent and making introductions that have real potential.
And I continue to learn every day. Businesses change. Industries evolve. People’s priorities shift. That keeps the work interesting and gives me plenty of reasons to stay curious.
If you’re getting to know Thrive & Co., I hope this gives you a sense of the person behind it. I love the work I do, care deeply about the people involved, and appreciate the trust that allows me to be part of it.
